PHP-Nuke Titanium (US Version)

I have been out of town for the past few months

Posted by TheGhost Mon Nov 29, 1999 8:00 pm

I have been out of town doing a contract with Google Deep Minds so I have not worked on the Titanium or Evolution Xtreme

I am back in town for a while and will resume updating the code...

I was not able to post from the country I was in so that is why nobody had any idea where I was at

Smile

Sincerely,
Ernest Allen Bufffington

Facebook Plugin and Login Problems

Posted by TheGhost Mon Nov 29, 1999 8:00 pm

The comment and likes section of our CMS and website are down. More than 718 reports to Downdetector since 3:00 am.

I was working on some code and thought all of a sudden I must have done something somehow to cause these plugins and the Facebook app login to stop working. I'm glad I looked carefully and inspected my other domains.

Turns out Facebook did something somehow to cause everything to stop working, and as usual they leave you in confusion wondering what is going on. I don't think I have ever even gotten a response from a Facebook employee ever. I have to assume they just don't care and it's obvious by the way they never respond, reply or get back to anyone who submits any kind of report at all.

The number one reason people connect with Facebook is the social plugins for likes and comments. This is something that could be duplicated through a rather simple but sophisticated API. I have no idea why nobody has done it yet.

As far as using Facebook to log in to a website, well most people use Google or Github to log in to the places they visit nowadays.

Turns out if you want to set up a Facebook SDK or set up a Facebook login for your website you have to have an IQ of 160 or at least a 4-year college reading comprehension level to understand the things you read about. There is no reason that they can't provide better help and easier-to-understand instructions for newbies and 1st-time developers.

They did not patent the like button or ability to store comments, and all this can be done on your own website via MySQL or MariaDB if you will. Facebook is going to dwindle to nothing if they don't start offering some incentive for us to have any level of interest at all.

You could add the Google, Twitter, and Github login API and write your own drop-in plugin with Java for comments and likes.

We use Facebook login, likes, and plugins because it is connected to the largest social network in the world, however, the key thing here is we made Facebook what it is today and we are responsible for the lackadaisical user support we are getting, this is our fault because we have allowed it.

I'm left sitting here wondering when the hell my website will go back to normal all the while pondering how many people I know that hate clicking the confirm button when liking something on a Facebook website app. It's ridiculous and intentional. They do that why? who fuck knows but it's probably on the top of my ten most annoying things list.

Seems like too many generation X kids have been running the show over at Facebook and 10 bucs says they go belly up sooner or later as a result.

Nobody wants to click a like button 2 times. What do you want to bet that if you spoke to the person that came up with that idea that you wouldn't walk away wondering who the fuck ties his shoes every morning? I would have to say this is or would probably be one of the dumbest shit heads that you would ever have to meet in your life.

I would like to apologize for my language and I'm sorry but I'm not.

Sincerely,
Ernest Allen Bufffington

New Default Network Theme by EBuffington

Posted by TheGhost Mon Nov 29, 1999 8:00 pm

PHP-Nuke Titanium has a new Default Theme

The name of our new default network theme is Inferno and was written and designed by multiple people.

Main Developers

  • Ernest Buffington (main designer and coder)
  • Sebastian Buffington (concept designer)
  • Winston Wolfe (coder)

Indirect Developers

  • coRpSE
  • TheMortal
  • Lonestar
  • killigan
  • SgtLegend
  • Technocrat
  • Eyecu
  • Wolfstar

This theme will probably always be under construction as the times roll forward. This theme by default is streaming FIRE and the download for the default theme is in excess of 1.78GB. It takes a pretty large video file to stream in resolution this clear.

This is our network mascot theme and is not suppose to be used by individual users as their default theme. However, when we set up a new network portal for someone this will be the theme that is installed by default and we recommend that you get familiar with the layout as you will need to understand it to make new themes or design your own default theme. After you have studied the theme a little bit you should be off and running and we recommend that you use the community version of Visual Studio or Dreamweaver for editing your network portal. You can use any version of Dreamweaver but we recommend editing your theme remotely with Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 as it was the last version before Adobe got greedy. We do not believe in online subscription-based software as it only shows corporate greed.

This new theme was designed and worked on from 2019 all the way up until now. We ported it in a way so that it will work with normal versions of Nuke-Evolution. There are a lot of reasons to have us set up a network portal for you versus you buying online internet services for your personal website.

Reasons to have a Network Portal

  • Why pay a monthly FEE for an online presence when we do it for free.
  • We help with module setup and design.
  • We still believe in Bells and Whistles.
  • Free website support for your network portal.
  • You can also convert to a commercial account anytime you wish and at wholesale rates.
  • You can use any domain name you like as we are a licensed registrar.
  • We also have free domain names *.86it.us i.e. your-portal-name.86it.us
  • We cater to newbies and pros.
  • This is the place to be if you want to teach or learn.
Sincerely,
Ernest Allen Bufffington

PHP-Nuke Titanium (US Version)

Welcome to PHP-Nuke Titanium Dev 4

Posted by TheGhost Mon Nov 29, 1999 8:00 pm

Thank you for choosing PHP-Nuke Titanium, we hope you enjoy using our Network CMS and we appreciate all the feedback and donations. This website is using the Nuke-Evolution Xtreme 2.0.9F Core engine and we are very proud to say so. This is the network version of PHP-Nuke Titanium. PHP-Nuke Titanium is designed to run solely on The 86it Developers Network. Some folks are not a general part of the network and just want a regular website or portal and in those instances, we set up Nuke-Evolution Xtreme (US Version). Understanding which one you need is a big part of starting an online presence. The decision is one that we can help you with...

Sincerely,
Ernest Allen Bufffington
